Tim Ho Wan, launched in 2009 in Hong Kong, now operates in 9 different countries. The master chefs behind Tim Ho Wan are Mak Kwai Pui and Leung Fei Keung who both left their position as head chefs to open up Tim Ho Wan together. The restaurant had a successful start and received one Michelin star just within a year since opening. Today, there are 6 Tim Ho Wan's in the US.
Tim Ho Wan Waikiki is located in central Waikiki at Royal Hawaiian Center. The restaurant is on third floor. Unlike other Michelin star restaurants, Tim Ho Wan offers affordable food. Most dim sum orders can be purchased for less than $10. During rush hour, you can expect there to be a wait time so make sure to plan ahead or avoid going to the restaurant during rush hour. Signature Hong Kong Iced Milk Tea and Rainbow Mango Slush are must try beverages when you visit. The restaurant does not offer a full bar, but you can still find beer and wine.
