Opening its first location in Honolulu in 1986, Yummy introduced Korean-style barbecue to locals, making it famous for bringing this cuisine to the area. Signature dishes include Kal Bi, Meat Jun, and BBQ Chicken, with most main dishes accompanied by a variety of vegetable sides and steamed rice. While Yummy Korean BBQ is known for its generous portions, they also offer smaller meal options for customers with lighter appetites.
This restaurant has been beloved by locals for years and also offers other Korean dishes such as noodles and soups. Yummy Korean BBQ has received numerous awards over the years, including “Hawaii’s Best Korean Food” in 2017 and 2008, “Best Kim Chee & Kal Bi” from Honolulu Weekly Readers’ Choice in 2004, and “Best Korean Food” and “Best Korean Restaurant” from Honolulu Magazine’s Hale Aina Awards in 1997 and 1995, respectively.
