With swift and efficient movements, Chung guides the Dining Out team to their seats and promptly takes care of menus and drinks, allowing guests ample time to explore the extensive array of authentic Korean dishes.

As you browse through the menu's mouthwatering options, you’ll be tempted by the handwritten “Today’s Specials” on a dry-erase board. Meanwhile, Soonkil Chung, Chungae’s husband and co-owner, approaches with a friendly smile and engaging demeanor.

The restaurant’s delicious banchan (side dishes) change daily, adding a fresh twist to each visit. Soonkil shares the story of this popular Pearl City eatery, noting, “We opened in November of last year.” He proudly shows a photo on his phone of a bright-eyed baby girl with pigtails, introducing her as “our Sadie” with a grandfather’s affectionate grin.
